The arch Angel

“This guitar is named after a fundamental shape in architecture: the arch: simple yet crucial to

the creation of many of the known constructions we see today.

The angel wing inlay on the rear of the guitar came out exceeding all my expectations. It’s simply beautiful. Combining the guitar’s name and the wings on her back, she becomes the archangel, a portrait of musical divinity and inspiration to me. On the rear of the head, seven planetary symbols are engraved, representing each of their relative archangels in heaven. Beautifully laid in. The only symbol on the fretboard, my guardian angel, insinuating a cloud, a sun, two mountains, a waterfall, a creek and a pond.

The rosewood rear of the guitar gives her insane strength on the lower frequencies which I love (who doesn’t), and the different woods on the top and fretboard all contribute to a tender sound on the higher notes. She was tailored to sound the way my ears want to hear an acoustic Jumbo in my compositions and Ayers has been making my day everyday since they delivered me the Arch.

This Jumbo body guitar is actually slightly bigger than the standard Ayers classic Jumbo size giving her even more resonance on her lows and mids. The sound between frets 5 and 12 is my favorite. It is very loud when needed and intricate when quiet and the fishman ellipse makes the line out sound exquisite.”
