Love, Passion and Ayers Guitar

Alessandro is a luthier since 1982

He’s a fine classical guitar builder and restorer of modern and romantique classical guitars. But His true passion has always been …. acoustic steel string guitars.

He started to play at age of 12, wih his very cheap acoustic, playing electric guitar and, also electric bass in some local bands but at the age of 20 left the electric experience (“too much noise") and completely dedicated to learn finger-picking and explore some new tunings and some new ways of playing.

He first was inspired by the Beatles, Joni Mitchell,Crosby Stills Nash and Young, but one day he discovered Michael Hedges, one of the most innovative acoustic guitar player of all times.

“At the age of 40 I started again to play my cheap Yamaha acoustic, and I soon realized I needed something different. I spent a couple of years buying (and reselling) high level guitars, who didn’t touch me, they didn’t have that “something" I was looking for.

I stumbled casually on an Ayers, and now I have six different models for my own pleasure.

My main models are an OM 09 all solid acoustic koa (ALSO THE TOP IS SOLID KOA), an OM cutaway with sitka spruce and cambodian rosewood back and sides, and a Custom Small Jumbo cutaway model with a fish laser engraved on the sitka spruce top, and a double beveled arm, one at the fingerboard and one providing a smooth touch for the right arm.

These guitars have different tone, but they all sound beautifully and, very important for a musician, they have a super comfortable neck. Playing on an Ayers neck is just…a pleasure.

As a guitar builder I can truly say that the level of construction is of the highest level, and the choice of wood (all the best you can find) make these instruments a joy for my ears and for my eyes.

Last, but not least, all the Ayers guitars I have are all SOLID WOOD!!!!

They have quality tuners, ebony fingerboard and bridge, ebony bridgepins and buffalo bone for nut and saddle.

The same wood I use to build my classical guitars"
